Pour out a packet of sauce for this one: Chick-fil-A’s first-ever location has shut down after 56 years of operation.
The iconic restaurant, located in the Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta, Georgia, served its final meal over the weekend, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The restaurant’s Facebook page has been updated to share it is “permanently closed.”
Signs were posted around the mall announcing the restaurant would be closing. “Our last day of operations here at Chick-fil-A Greenbriar Mall will be Saturday,” the sign said. “It has been our pleasure to serve you!”
S. Truett Cathy opened the original Chick-fil-A in Greenbriar Mall back in 1967, after The Dwarf House diner gained immense popularity. The chain quickly developed into the top fast-food spot for America, and anyone who’s had a Chick-fil-A sandwich knows why.
